Payment Options I often get asked what the payment options are, and I used to say... cash only. But, a lot of people, including myself, can't afford to buy any horse we want, any time we want, and be able to pay for it all up front. So, I now have several payment options. The first one of coarse, is "cash". If my buyer is paying cash for his/her horse, and will be picking it up immediately, then I'm also a little more negotiable on the price. I accept Cash, Money Orders, and Cashier's Checks. I usually Do Not accept personal checks or business checks as payment. The second option is to put your purchase on a Credit Card or use a Debit Card. I now accept Visa and Master Card for horse purchases, and also for breeding fees. If your horse is purchased on a Credit Card, then you can pick up your horse immediately. There may be a small service charge with this option. The third option is a Payment Plan. Over the years, I have been uneasy about the idea of financing a horse for someone. I've always been worried that the horse might get hurt or something while in my care. In 2004 however, I allowed several buyers to make payments on 2004 foals, and pick them up when they were weaned. This worked out very well for my buyers. Now, I have buyers wanting this option for yearlings, and other horses. Although I have mixed emotions about it.... I'm going to offer a payment plan. This is how it works... At least $400 or 25% of the purchase price (which ever is greater) has to paid up front as a down payment. Payments, usually of the same amount, will be due ever 30 days. I prefer a Maximum of 4 payments, but depending on the situation... I might go longer. There will be no finance charge or interest charged. The horse has to stay with me through the payment period, and can be picked up after he/she has been paid in full. During the payment period, the Buyer will usually be charged $5 per day Board to cover the cost of feed and care. Board must be paid in advance, and then monthly, to cover the next month's feed. If the horse needs any vaccinations, deworming, vet care, or farrier care, during the payment period, the Buyer will be responsible for these costs. These would be the same expenses if the horse was already with the buyer, but instead, the horse will be with me. If the Buyer fails to make payments, and pay for board and any expenses, then the sale will be cancelled. No refunds will be given. Horses can be paid off early to save on boarding, etc. if the buyer wants to. I have a CONTRACT for purchases and Payment plans to protect both parties. If there is a horse you are interested in, and wish to ask me about it... please email me at bedonna@wildblue.net or call me at my New number, 580-471-4040 to discuss it. If emailing... please put the horse's name or description in the subject line, so I know it is not spam, virus, etc. and I'll open it. Otherwise, if left blank, it will get deleted. Do NOT put Hello, or something simple. Put something specific in subject line. Thanks, Bedonna
